This past Sunday was the rescheduled date for Youghal’s annual Medieval Festival. It was an absolutely beautiful day (unlike the original date), and about 4,000 people came, which is pretty good considering the changed time. Our church once again ran a Book of Kells themed photo booth, and were able to give the photos away thanks to sponsorship from the Youghal Heritage Committee. We give each photo in a frame that explains some of the history of the Book of Kells and also what the message of the Book is, since it is a beautifully illuminated copy of the four Gospels. We also give away copies of the Gospel of Mark in English and Irish, as well as Bibles, etc. We love being part of the Medieval Festival!
