We’ve had more sunshine than normal this summer, but when it does rain here (which happens a lot, even in a good year) it generally doesn’t rain hard. Usually, it’s a little here and there on and off all day long while the sun hides behind the clouds. Those days aren’t even called rainy days, they are “soft days”. If it comes down hard it’s called a “lashing” rain, but it would be rare indeed to hear any thunder in Youghal. Now you know.
