As a family, we have a few holidays that we’ve invented, and today is one of them: Alien Day. It’s the anniversary of the day we arrived in Ireland and became resident aliens. Today we mark seven years of living as aliens! Although technically one of us is not actually an alien, since Rebekah is an Irish citizen. The rest of us are doing our best to catch up to her two passports, but even when we’re all citizens, the celebration of Alien Day will continue. After all, the Bible says our primary citizenship is in Heaven, and that every Christian lives as an alien here on earth (cf. 1 Peter 2:11).
